Joey vs. Fogo

Ok, it wasn't as "epic" as the title, but we went to Fogo de Chao for Joey's birthday meal (we actually used a gift card that Anna gave me for my birthday and had a nice dinner with her and Chad). I have probably seen Joey eat more, but honestly I was worrying about my own food :-) I could eat those cheesy popovers as a meal... Anyway, Joey was impressed with the salad bar but took our warning to not fill up there! Here is the evening in pictures...

sewing project!!

I have been wanting to sew more, but have been so busy. One of the mom's from swimming saw a pair of pants I made and thought they were cute so I said, bring me in a fabric you like and I'll make a pair for your baby! So she did...AND I had some extra fabric left over so I made a bag too!! I got the instructions from a blog that my friend Jamie sent me (I yelled at her for sending me said blog because there are SO many cute idea and I don't have enough time!!). Anyway, I made this bag, and I imporvised by adding a cell phone pocket on the outside!! Such talent...haha!

Here are the pants. I lined them with pink flannel...

I LOVE this bag! The original blog was about repurposing an old sweater into a bag, so I might try that too! So many things I want to make!!!

baby alaina

Laura and 3-month old Alaina crossed the river for a nice little playdate. Laura is enjoying a nice 6 month maternity leave, so she had some time available :-) Alaina is quite a good baby and we enjoyed having them visit. I can't wait until the can actually "play" together! For now, we had to settle on trying to get the "impossible picture of two kids where they are both looking an smiling" picture. You know the one, with multiple attempts, and not real "perfect" picture! haha! I bought some jammies for Juliette a while back and they had a little baby pair, so I picked one up for Alaina so they could match :-)

Before swimming Juliette and I stopped at Caribou. they had a little table there that entertained her for quite a while. She kept her little milk and banana bread on her napkin and was a very good girl. She even gave some customers some nice smiles :-) Sorry about the fuzzy pic...bad setting on my phone camera...

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Today Joey turned 33 :-) We made him some cupcakre during the day that we were all able to enjoy. As usual, Juliette probably enjoyed them the most!

sick bug...boo

We've been sick. Juliette was sick and had her cough going quite well for a few (sleepless) nights. So the beginning of last week was rough, not much sleep for anyone! We even took a trip to the doctor, which mommy is usually against, but two nights of no sleep can change a persons mind! The dr gave us a perscription for a cough supressant, which I know they say is ineffective in kids under 2 and even under 6, but not this kid! Thank god that it helped her get some sleep!! Then, mommy got a little bug, and it carried over to this week, but I have been managing fine because that's what mommy's do! We're tough! (Luckily dad hasn't caught anything!).

I also had to take off Monday and Tuesday since daycare was closed (cool side story...Karen, my daycare provider, got to go to DW with her daughter and daughters family for a Wishes and More trip. Her grandaughter, Kylie, has Tuberous Sclerosis, and was granted a trip...sooooo cool!!). SO it was kinda of a bummer that my forced vacation included me being sick and a snowstrom keeping us from doing much, but that kid of ours is just so damn cute that I got over it :-) Here are a few pics...

NYC

Gramma and Papa are off to NYC...we brought them to the airport this morning and can't wait to see what fun presents they bring back!! We wore our last present from them (our stylish jacket) when we dropped them off :-) When we were parked, I turned around and told Juliette to take out her nuk and smile...here is the result:

This was Juliette this morning...wearing her Mickey-in-a-heart t-shirt! She is pointing to Mickey in case you couldn't find him! HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

Also, as a side note, this girl isn't even in school yet and she sent out valentines to 19 of her little friends! She didn't mail them until today though...she had a busy weekend!!

Juliette was looking out the window by our door and saying, "side". The poor girl just wanted to play outside, and now that it was 45 degrees we could actually go out!! She was still a little coughy, but it was just SO nice...and we were out for like 10 minutes. Can't wait to finally get sledding!
